As a Hearings and Council Support Officer, you play a key role in providing administrative and secretarial support to the Council and its committees, working groups, hearings and any other Council processes as required. You will actively assist elected members involved in the decision-making process through your advanced administrative and technical skills.
Our customers include elected members, residents, business and community organisations so you need to be confident in dealing with people at all levels and able to maintain a professional manner at all times.
What will make you successful:
You will be an enthusiastic and energetic self-starter with a proven background in administration. You will have strong experience in administration supporting at senior level. You must show initiative, have excellent attention to detail, great computer skills (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro) and proven experience in preparing and putting documents on the web.
You must also be highly organised, task oriented, a quick learner and able to produce consistently high standards of work within tight timeframes without being fazed. New Zealand Local Government experience would be highly desirable but not necessary.
